My Story

As an avid crocheter, I spend my evenings watching television or movies with my family with yarn, hook, and pattern in my hands. By nature, I am a multi-tasker and would never miss the opportunity to work on creating something while having to sit still!

My mom taught me to crochet when I was about 10 years old and my first projects were blankets for my Barbie dolls.  Over the years, I've moved to other needlework and fabric art projects and have taught myself to cross-stitch, quilt, and sew.  I find tremendous pleasure in creating and learning new techniques and it brings me joy to present a handmade item to a friend or family member.

Over this past year, my main projects have focused on making scarves, wraps, and baby blankets.  I've enjoyed buying yarn and experimenting and challenging myself to try new stitches and styles.  I've REALLY enjoyed buying the yarn and have now self-imposed a "no yarn buying" mandate.  I simply have no more room!

All of the items in my shop have been created by me with the purpose of bringing the same joy that I had in making them to the recipient of the handmade item!  I use many generously shared patterns and have noted those in my item descriptions as well as some of my own custom designs.

In my non-crafty life, I am happily married to my best friend for the past 20+ years, have two boys ages 12 and 17, two dogs, and a cat. I work full-time as a chief technology officer for a large school district in the Sacramento area. I also do volunteer work for non-profits related to educational technology. I would rather be a stay-at-home crafting mom, but that doesn't pay the bills, yet! As a family, we travel during our holidays and breaks, most recently we spent two weeks traveling through Italy. Our next trip will be to Malta - a first for all of us. My husband and I recently started running again to keep in shape and give us an outlet from our incredibly stressful lives.
